Dinner Theater

The Dinner Theater Group will start the new season at the Boerne Community Theater by seeing their production of :

Harvey
by Mary Chase
G-rated classic comedy

When Elwood P. Dowd starts to introduce his imaginary friend, Harvey, a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit, to guests at a society party, his sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter, Myrtle Mae, and their family from future embarrassment. Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy when she explains to doctors that years of living with Elwood's hallucination have caused her to see Harvey also! The doctors commit Veta instead of Elwood, but when the truth comes out, the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion. When he shows up at the sanitarium looking for his lost friend Harvey, it seems that the mild-mannered Elwood's delusion has had a strange influence on more than one of the doctors. Only at the end does Veta realize that maybe Harvey isn't so bad after all.

We're shaking things up this month by going to see a Sunday matinee followed by dinner. Our date to see the show will be Sunday, September 19th. The matinee will begin at 2:30 with dinner aftwards at Riven Rock Ranch in Comfort. If you are interested in attending, please contact Kathy Shaheen at 336-3973 or nagstermom@yahoo.com

Dinner Group

Would you like to get to know more of your neighbors?  Do you find it easier to make friends in a small group?  Do you need to see a person a few times before you feel you know them?  If you answered yes to these questions, you should consider joining the Cordillera Dinner Group.  The way it works is, three to four coupes (singles are welcome too) are grouped together with the intent to share three or four meals together at each others homes.  I am gathering names to form the groups for the 2011 year.  Please email Susan Krieg at skrieg@gvtc.com or call 830-537-5836 if you have questions or are interested in joining.

Movie News

The Movie Group will go see "The Switch" on Thursday, September 16th. This movie is a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. We plan on dining at BJ's at the Rim before the movie. Please note that this movie date is scheduled a week later than our regular movie outings due to a conflict with Book Club. Movie group will return to it's regular second Thursday of the month schedule in October.

The times for this movie on this date are not yet available. For more information about the time of the movie and lunch or to be placed on the movie e-mail list, contact Kathy Shaheen at 336-3973 or nagstermom@yahoo.com
